Registration for the 2026 season opens April 1st, 2026! Please contact us so we can tell you more about the team!
The Nordek Cycling Club Corp. is a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to using cycling to promote youth development in Decatur, DeKalb and Gwinnett County. Our association was formed in 2021 by a passionate group of mountain bikers.
The Corporation is organized pursuant to provisions of the Nonprofit Code of the State of Georgia. The purposes of the Corporation are:
(1) to promote high school and middle school recreation, health, and safety through a focus on mountain biking;
(2) to provide and expand educational opportunities for the bicycling and mountain biking community; and
(3) to acquire and administer funds which, after all payment of necessary expenses, will be devoted to such purposes.
No substantial part of the Corporation’s activities will consist of carrying on propaganda or otherwise attempting to influence legislation.
Our teams are affiliated with the Georgia Cycling Association and are Gender-Inclusive and Co-Ed. Mountain biking is for everyone and we welcome diversity in all forms and riders of all skill levels. If you like biking - we like you! We make all riders and families feel welcome and wanted.
DeKalb Composite Mountain Bike Team A composite team made up of riders from several high schools in the DeKalb County area. We have riders from Lakeside HS, Druid Hills HS, Henderson MS, The Galloway School and Paideia.
Decatur High School Mountain Bike Team Consists of riders from Decatur High School and Beacon Hill Middle School.
Yellow River Composite Mountain Bike Team A composite team made up or riders from areas zoned for Brookwood, Berkmar, Shiloh, South Gwinnett, Providence Christian and Parkwood Christian high schools.
Dekalb Trail Rangers A fun and safe environment for kids grades 2-5 to explore the oudoors, discover the joy of cycling and build confidence in a fun, suppportive environment. You do NOT have to live in Dekalb county to participate. Families may choose the Trail Rangers program that fits their schedule. All kids must be able to ride a bike without training wheels.
Through our affiliation with the Georgia Cycling Association georgiacycling.org, we compete in Cross Country (XC) style mountain biking events with more than 60 GCA teams.
While we have some competitive riders who train to win medals, all skill levels are welcome and we coach each child to perform their best and meet their personal goals. We celebrate podiums, but also celebrate all riders’ accomplishments and improvements no matter their pace. Having fun and developing a lifelong love of biking are our primary goals!
Race day is a big event: we set up tents, have a Pit Zone with music and refreshments, cheer each other on, and provide a chill space for kids to swap their race stories. Race locations vary from Rome to Cleveland to Milledgeville. Not all kids need to participate in a race, but if you do want to race you must first demonstrate bike safety skills by attending a few practices. Per GCA rules, the decision to race is solely up to team leadership.
Nordek Cycling Club is 100% volunteer-run by parents and community coaches.
If you enjoy biking, please consider coaching! It takes many volunteer coaches of all ability levels to maintain our 4-1 rider-to-coach ratio. Even if you can’t attend every practice, we welcome your help coaching when you are available. For insurance and safety, only certified coaches (no other family/friends) can ride with the team at practices.
Non-bikers, we can still use your support in many other ways such as timing, monitoring trail checkpoints, diversity outreach, fundraising, swag/uniforms, or helping with the Pit Zone to provide fuel and shade for our riders and families.
